@  deekayzero : (20 October 2018 - 02:48 PM) that's cuz aside from teenagers weed users are every day lower to upper middle class people who generally pay their taxes adn work for a living.
@  Nobody : (19 October 2018 - 08:32 AM) yeah, one of my colleagues at work went to a state where it's now legal and the weirdest thing for her was that at the dispensary NOBODY LOOKED SHADY lol
@  deekayzero : (19 October 2018 - 08:19 AM) weed is now legal in canada. i stayed up late so i could smoke a legal bowl before bed. has been unreal smoking openly and publicly without the fear vector. everytime that fear creeps up on me i slap it away and say "it's legal now fool!"
@  Nobody : (19 October 2018 - 07:12 AM) rimworld has been early access for a few years, solo dev that kept his promises, it's a rare thing
@  Nobody : (19 October 2018 - 07:11 AM) rimworld is a single player rogue-like with the emphasis on the story telling aspects. fun to talk with other people and compare games, but not multi-player in any way
@  deekayzero : (17 October 2018 - 11:03 PM) but the current year has been solid in terms of deploying managable milestones and what not so it's promising.
@  deekayzero : (17 October 2018 - 11:03 PM) and i guess they actually maanged to pull it off. the next question - does it pay dividends into BIG content maps? if they continue the currrent rate of development it could be a matter of weeks. or if they slump in their old ways it could be months.
@  deekayzero : (17 October 2018 - 11:02 PM) the core tech being added is called ocs or object container streaming. prettying interesting tech dealing with like i guess so to say advanced lod but also match making around poi's. at least on the latter potentially. it is really actually pretty cool.
@  deekayzero : (17 October 2018 - 11:00 PM) star citizen 3.3 is mostly a core tech update rather than a content one and the core tech is starting to look good in ptu. idk what fps meters my friends use but i would forgive them for thinking 60 fps becuase even tho shadowplay reads out between 36 and 60 fps it feels smooth throughout. like noticeably more so vs the previous milestones.
@  deekayzero : (17 October 2018 - 10:58 PM) singleplayer or coop?
@  Nobody : (17 October 2018 - 06:27 PM) good game, recommended
@  Nobody : (17 October 2018 - 06:27 PM) so, rimworld released today - very amusing sim full of completely crazy simulated people. Had one break down the other day dig up a dead person and bring them to dinner...
@  deekayzero : (16 October 2018 - 09:40 AM) i think the public just gives zero fucks about vr. they played with it on their phone for 20 minutes then lost the headset and don't really think about it.
@  deekayzero : (16 October 2018 - 09:40 AM) and ar has already had one killer app that vr has yet to show forward thinking on at all yet - pokemanz go of all things lol. not that it applies to hololens but still.
@  deekayzero : (16 October 2018 - 09:39 AM) i feel like vr continues to be doomed both in entertainment and in enterprise. hololens has more potentional as does AR type solutions in general but hololens has a long way to go.
@  Nobody : (15 October 2018 - 07:51 PM) because as a device vr tends to isolate you as an individual, so party games are kinda difficult with it
@  Nobody : (15 October 2018 - 07:51 PM) i can imagine it will become super important for entertainment at an individual level
@  Nobody : (15 October 2018 - 07:50 PM) btw - been playing with vr. offers some interesting potential, but for me the potential is mostly about being up close and personal with the environment. which of course likely means higher resolutions and such. but very cool
@  Nobody : (15 October 2018 - 07:49 PM) it's gotten insanely difficult to make money in an already crowded retail space for those types of games
@  deekayzero : (12 October 2018 - 09:00 AM) and then ofc the technical debt incurred by constant crunch time and so on
@  deekayzero : (12 October 2018 - 09:00 AM) and honestly i thought their batman game looked good story wise. but people hated it i guess in terms of the sales.
@  deekayzero : (12 October 2018 - 08:59 AM) if i go by the reddit gaming circle jerk tell tale's games should be top sellers all around despite their clumsy story telling cliches. cuz i mean people seem to certain praiseanything with dialogue trees as long as they're multiple endings.
@  deekayzero : (12 October 2018 - 08:58 AM) in the end tell tale games' demise is a familiar one in the industry. and i think it also shows the how misleading the visible popularity of something online vs actual sales can be.
@  Nobody : (05 October 2018 - 06:13 AM) at least I didn't have the issue that cynic had when the old instant messenger stuff got moved to skype... he had like 1k contacts and their db was converting them one at a time... he lost everything
@  Nobody : (05 October 2018 - 06:06 AM) that would be so many discord channels... btw, the telltale closing thing really had a lot of devs upset
@  Nobody : (05 October 2018 - 06:05 AM) they're across so many disciplines and some are from work and such
@  Nobody : (05 October 2018 - 06:05 AM) yeah, I should move off skype. it's only convenient because the sheer number of people I have on it... I likely couldn't do that all on discord
@  deekayzero : (27 September 2018 - 08:44 PM) the psychology of it is somewhat interesting. becuase you can see facebook DMs without marking them as read so you question wether they read it or not yet until it's confirmed as read. lol
@  deekayzero : (27 September 2018 - 08:44 PM) oh but the read message thing i've had in chat apps since like bbm back in teh day. it's got it's pros and cons. facebook has had it forever. don't think discord DMs have it.
@  deekayzero : (20 September 2018 - 01:32 AM) which i'd rather chat with you in discord but you will do your thing, i just hope we don't get disconnect through the tech evolution cycle
@  deekayzero : (20 September 2018 - 01:31 AM) or rather i use skype to contact you when i need to. i think that's the primary usage of it now. >>
@  deekayzero : (20 September 2018 - 01:31 AM) idk i don't use skype anymore. everyone uses a slack derivitive now. mainly discord
@  Nobody : (19 September 2018 - 06:45 PM) is it me or is seeing when somebody reads your skype messages in terms of time just creepy...
@  Nobody : (18 September 2018 - 07:50 PM) automated upvoting is kinda crazy too... it's like you can be the speaker AND the audience all at once!
@  deekayzero : (18 September 2018 - 07:57 AM) which ofc has been heavily exploited by new media bloggers posing as the press shit poster magnates like the ones that owned gawker/created huffpo etc
@  deekayzero : (18 September 2018 - 07:56 AM) unfortunately that makes people self assured that their unwarranted sense of self importance and inteligence to the detriment of themselves and society.
@  deekayzero : (18 September 2018 - 07:55 AM) and unlike print or tv is a two way street not a one way street. which i think is the most shocking thing to most people - that people can actually talk back and respond to their dog waking narrative spin fake news bullshit these days.
@  deekayzero : (18 September 2018 - 07:55 AM) the internet will certainly reach it's audience faster
@  deekayzero : (17 September 2018 - 11:26 AM) idk that the internet is any worse or better than print for that.
@  deekayzero : (17 September 2018 - 11:25 AM) interesting article.
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:03 PM) you can't stop it from doing what it's good for
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:03 PM) the internet medium does wonderful for very short crazy pieces that have entertainment value... it's the medium
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:02 PM) that the medium is the message....
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:02 PM) it's about politics and the stuff we notice more and more... I still go back to the wonderful phrase
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:01 PM) https://www.nytimes....technology.html
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:01 PM) good op piece in the times - lots of old quotes even though the guy writing it has his view of what they mean:
@  Nobody : (16 September 2018 - 04:00 PM) I wish we still lived in a world where the people mattered at all... but we don't. c'est la vie
@  deekayzero : (13 September 2018 - 12:55 PM) it's actually insanely scary how dystopian this law is.
@  deekayzero : (13 September 2018 - 12:54 PM) it may interest you that EU passed the preliminary vote of article 13 that is so hardcore on copyright it makes memes illegal. LOL
@  Nobody : (10 September 2018 - 04:58 PM) glad you are still looking out for that. I gave up quite a while ago lol
@  Nobody : (10 September 2018 - 04:55 PM) wow, didn't even know that was still a thing....
@  deekayzero : (10 September 2018 - 02:28 PM) alright a couple new posts in the star citizen thread :O
@  Nobody : (10 September 2018 - 10:47 AM) ok, back!
@  Nobody : (10 September 2018 - 10:26 AM) since somebody crashed the server I am now updating it a bit - back down for a bit with planned maintenance.
@  deekayzero : (02 September 2018 - 09:14 PM) but youtube really stepping up their game on being a music streaming service from what i've seen. been alot of support of that and promotion of their radio stations.
@  deekayzero : (02 September 2018 - 09:14 PM) oh also i believe getting youtube throught it is free with ads or something. which ofc they have sub for the ads.
@  Nobody : (02 September 2018 - 08:36 AM) i miss the days when everything wasn't a "service" model
@  Nobody : (02 September 2018 - 08:36 AM) ah ok. I hate subs lol
@  deekayzero : (01 September 2018 - 06:39 PM) google still has subs tied to it but you still get youtube through theirs where as amazon's just has amazon music which is so bad it makes spotify look amazing and spotify is missing alot of stuff that's on youtube soooooo...]
@  Nobody : (01 September 2018 - 05:33 AM) btw - my workplace has become consumed with 2 factor authentication recently because cyberattacks have just gotten all sorts of crazy
